How Vivelina collects, uses, and shares data

This Privacy Policy explains how Vivelina handles information when you use the Vivelina mobile app and related services.

1. Who We Are

Vivelina (“we”, “our”, or “us”) develops a food scanning and ingredient insight service, including vivelina.com, the Vivelina mobile app, and related features.

2. Data We Collect

Vivelina is designed to operate without collecting your name, email address, or other directly identifying profile information.

  • Anonymous authentication data. We use Supabase anonymous sign-in to create and maintain an anonymous app account. This includes a Supabase-generated user ID, session tokens, and related authentication metadata needed to keep the app working.
  • App content and usage data. We process scans, saved items, ingredient-analysis requests, score history, and similar app content needed to provide the service.
  • Purchase and subscription data. If you buy a subscription or other paid feature, we receive subscription status, product identifiers, entitlement status, and transaction validation details from the platform provider or our subscription processing tools. We do not receive your full payment card number.
  • Technical data from service providers. Our infrastructure and platform providers may process technical metadata such as IP address, device or network information, and service logs as part of delivering and securing the service.

3. How We Use Information

We use collected information to operate and improve Vivelina.

  • Provide food scans, ingredient insights, Brain Score calculations, saved history, and related app features.
  • Maintain the anonymous Supabase sign-in session needed to operate the app.
  • Verify purchases, manage subscriptions, and enable paid features.
  • Monitor reliability, prevent abuse, and keep the service secure.
  • Comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms.

We do not sell personal information and we do not use your data for third-party advertising profiling.

4. Third Parties We Use

We share data only with service providers and platform operators that help us run Vivelina.

  • Supabase. We use Supabase to provide anonymous authentication and related backend infrastructure for the app.
  • Apple and Google. If you purchase a subscription through the App Store or Google Play, Apple or Google processes the payment and provides us with purchase and subscription status information.
  • Hosting, database, subscription, and product-data providers that process limited service data on our behalf to operate the app.
  • Law enforcement, regulators, or other parties when disclosure is required by law or necessary to protect rights, safety, and the service.

5. In-App Purchases

Subscriptions and other in-app purchases are processed by the platform you use, such as Apple App Store or Google Play. Those platform providers handle billing and payment methods under their own privacy terms.

We receive only the purchase and subscription information needed to confirm your entitlement, restore purchases, prevent fraud, and provide paid features.

6. Data Retention

We keep personal data for as long as it is reasonably necessary to provide the service, maintain business records, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements.

  • Anonymous account, scan, saved-item, and subscription records are retained while your app account or service relationship remains active and for a reasonable period afterward for security, backup, and legal purposes.
  • Technical logs processed by service providers are typically retained for shorter periods based on operational need and provider settings.

7. Your Choices and Deletion

You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal data we control by emailing hi@vivelina.com.

Because the app uses anonymous authentication rather than named accounts, deletion requests should include enough information for us to identify the anonymous account or subscription record if possible. We may retain limited records where required for legal, security, or billing reasons.

You can also manage or cancel subscriptions through your Apple App Store or Google Play account settings.

8. Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures to protect data. However, no service can guarantee absolute security, and you are responsible for securing your device, account credentials, and backups.

9. Children’s Privacy

Vivelina is not intended for children under 13.

We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.

10. International Processing

Our service providers may process data in countries other than your own. When that happens, we rely on contractual and operational safeguards appropriate to the transfer.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make a material change, we will post the updated version on vivelina.com and update the effective date above.
